Group trips at Longridge
Set in a unique riverside location near Marlow, Buckinghamshire, Longridge provides a range of exciting water sports and land-based activities aimed at young people of all abilities.
Our environment is perfect to provide a fun, challenging and safe environment for groups to visit from across the UK to enjoy our unique blend of water and land-based adventurous activities. Longridge is equipped to offer both residential and day visits, but please note that you do not have to book activities to stay with us. Especially in the winter months, many Youth & Faith groups come to enjoy our beautiful site whilst they run their own activities in our training centre. We are approved by British Canoe, the Royal Yacht Association (RYA) and British Rowing and provide vocational training courses that can lead to an accredited qualification. You can build a recognised course into your residential stay with us or for those schools close to the centre we can create a bespoke course running over a half-term. All of our activities and training courses are fully risk-assessed and are reviewed annually.
Longridge has great transport links with ample parking and a range of bunk room and camping facilities and options for fully catered stays. Fully accessible toilets and showers, masses of open space and dedicated groups areas are available. Our training centre also has a variety of rooms that you can use if you need to have a study session whilst you are here, or even just to use as a communal space to watch a film in the evening.
We have a selection of indoor accommodation that can take up to 87 people, although this is slightly dependent on the gender split of the group in question. Our campsites can take up to 500 people in total, spread out across our beautiful riverside site. We also offer a range of catering options, whether you’d like to go self-catered and use our training centre kitchen, or select from our hot or cold food menus. Please note that you do not have to book activities to stay with us – however we always recommend that you book at least one (maybe as a reward at the end of the trip) as often young people who come down and see activities going on get very jealous and want to give it a go themselves.
You can download our Risk Management and Child Protection policies, if you require any specific risk assessments our Bookings Team will with pleasure forward these to you.
Residential Trips
The ultimate way to enjoy our beautiful site is to stay with us, either on one of our campsites or in our bunk house accommodation which can accommodate up to 87 young people with separate staff rooms and facilities. You can either choose one of our packages, details of which are below, alternatively our Bookings Team will help you create a bespoke itinerary special to you and your school. We want you and your pupils to have the best possible experience with us, so let us know what you want to achieve and we can make sure that your programme is perfectly suited to you.
Catering
Getting active and having fun is sure to work up an appetite and you can choose from full board or self-catering options.
Full board is provided by our own team of caterers who have years of experience in catering for young people, providing simple, tasty menus that can be adapted to suit many dietary requirements. Seating is in our Café and our covered outdoor dining areas. Alternatively you may wish to self-cater. Our Training Rooms have a small kitchen which can be used in conjunction with our Training Rooms for indoor dining. Or we have a larger outdoor kitchen which is perfect for those camping with us. Some groups choose to do a combination of both, using the self catering kitchen to provide breakfast and lunch, allowing our team to prepare a hot meal in the evening. The choice is yours.
